Woodville-West Torrens midfielder Jake Comitogianni has capped off a fine season by winning the 2015 Macca’s Cup MVP Award.

Recruited from Woodville South, Comitogianni displayed an outstanding ability to win the ball, with his tally of 432 disposals ranking him No.1 in the competition.

A Henley High School student, Comitogianni’s extreme consistency was also illustrated by him being named in his team’s best players for 12 of the 13 matches he played this year.

The 17-year-old received his Macca’s Cup MVP nomination in Round 2 when he tallied 31 disposals, six tackles and 10 clearances against Norwood.

Comitogianni – 179cm and 69kg - is the second Eagles player to win the Macca’s Cup MVP, with Josh Growden earning the award in 2010.

Introduced in 2009, the Macca’s Cup MVP Award is presented to the best performing player in the Under-18 Macca’s Cup Competition.

One player is nominated for the Award each round throughout the home-and-away season, with the overall winner selected by a panel of judges chaired by SANFL High Performance Manager Brenton Phillips.

Comitogianni receives a $1,000 cash prize and a trophy courtesy of McDonald’s

Well done Jake! Great effort.

With our highly successful Seconds team having so many good young players but with the influx of excellent players moving up from the U18s next year, there's going to be a "log jam" with tough decisions by selectors who, of the Seconds, to move on to make way for these young players.
