WOODVILLE-WEST Torrens coach Michael Godden has promised his players a mini pre-season as they prepare for three weeks without an official game of football.

The Eagles' bye falls on the SANFL's split-round, meaning their next game is not until August 7 against Port Adelaide.

Players will meet to review Saturday's win over South Adelaide at Woodville Oval tonight, then take a week off.

But Godden has told them to expect ``some real heavy work'' when they return.

``The following week we start basically a pre-season again,'' he said.

``We'll have a full week, then at the end of that week we'll play an internal (practice game) on the second bye and then we'll be ready to go for Port.

``The first few weeks will be pretty solid leading up to the Port game and maybe even the Glenelg game here the following week.''

Godden is not worried the three-week break late in the season will disrupt the Eagles' plans to push for a top-three finish.

``I'm quite comfortable with it,'' he said.

``The guys get a week off, they can go and refresh, go and have a bit of time off with their families.

``Then we come back and we can really hit it hard.

``They know we've got a big push to the finals, we've got to still keep our eye on the top three so to have that week off will be good for them.''

The Eagles will, however, be sweating on the outcome of tomorrow night's tribunal hearing with key forward Adam Grocke - who kicked six goals against the Panthers - answering a charge of forceful contact to the head.
